The Black Swan is the return of the original ClearDrive circuit. Years of refinements to the ClearDrive have made it a more transparent overdrive, but the old circuit has always been a favorite for its punchy midrange and subtle British vibe. Though it isn't as transparent as the current ClearDrive, the Black Swan never gets in the way of your tone. The tone shaping and harmonic content produced improve note definition and restore clarity, helping you cut through the mix without turning your amp into something it's not.
In addition to the standard tone control, the Black Swan has a Body control, allowing you to select a range of tones from very dark to very bright.
By blending JFET and Zener clipping, the Black Swan produces a very natural and gradual transition from clean into first soft clipping, then progressively harder clipping, meaning that the Black Swan responds to picking dynamics just like a good tube amp.
