One of the most dynamic pedals on the market, the Continental is designed to approximate the distortion characteristics of various vintage amps, but with more gain available. While it doesn't sound exactly like any particular amp, the three way switch does a great job of mimicking the response of EL34, EL84, or 6L6 power tubes.
With an emphasis on power tube distortion, the Continental produces an even blend of soft and hard clipping and exhibits greater touch sensitivity than most pedals. By using the guitar's volume knob or altering the pick attack, players can easily transition from clean to high gain tones without changing any settings. And because of the way clipping is produced, it is also quieter than most pedals.
A blend of silicon, germanium, LED, Zener, and MOSFET diodes creates alternating regions of symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping to produce rich and fluid harmonic content.
