The White Stag overdrive has a smooth breakup and soft high end, and is optimized for blues and country styles. With an extra gain stage and a blend of symmetrical and asymmetrical clipping, the White stag has more gain on tap and richer harmonic content than many similar pedals.
In addition to a Treble control, the inclusion of a Bass control gives the White Stag impressive tonal flexibility. The bass control is an unconventional design which cuts bass from center to minimum and boosts low mids from center to maximum. This gives you the ability to dial in a mid hump, low-mid hump, or a flatter response. Additionally, the treble control has a very broad range, yet no matter where the controls are set, the high end is never harsh, and the low end is never cold.
Guitarists using single coils will appreciate the added definition that the White Stag exhibits in #2 and #4 switch positions.
