Long story short, I spent much of my spare time for a few months trying many, many different ideas and experiments till I came up with something I was really happy with.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOK, here̥s the rundown on some of the changes made to the first PPie:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eA FET buffered active clean-boost.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eNo ÌÕdrop outÌÒ when you kick on the fuzz when playing live. Helps give the feel of running two amps, one wet, one dry for those of us who can̥t afford two SVT̥s, and\/or can̥t lug two bass amps down to the local club.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eTotally changed FET-hybrid clip sections.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eAlong with great sounding fuzz, this specific clipping combo helps the fuzz to mesh with the clean signal in a natural way, instead of just sitting on top of the dry signal like some fuzzers with clean blends can do.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eAltered tone-stack range geared specifically for bass.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eA widened range of usable tones from the ÌÕshapeÌÒ knob. The pedal overall has a much less pronounced mid-scoop which helps it to retain presence in a live playing situation.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eAltered saturation (fuzz) knob to make it highly usable at lower gain settings.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eRoll the fuzz back, and things still sound crisp, also tighter lows at high fuzz settings. I know everyone says this, but The PP ÌÕBÌÒ really can go from a dirty, gritty, slightly over-driven clean-blended bass sound, to fully saturated, watch out for feedback, drop-C meltdown, and everything in-between.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eVarious cap and resistor changes.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height: 1.2; font-size: 14px;\"\u003eSeveral core changes to the circuit to even better accomodate the bass guitar.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003eAnd usual quality you expect from Wren and Cuff.\u003cbr\u003eGenuine Davies ÌÕDaka-wareÌÒ knobs. (like the old WH pedals, and many others), not the knock offs. I kind of have a thing for knobs (that sounds weird), and when you see these in person, compared to the cheapo knobs they are truly a thing of beauty. Industry standard Alpha pots, lock-washers on pots and jacks, 3PDT switch for ÌÕtrueÌÒ bypass, enclosed jacks, insulated 2.1mm 9V jack (Boss-style) with fiberboard mounted connections. Great looking sturdy enclosures, powder-coated, and hand-screened in the USA.
